Dyeing yarn WITH KOOL-AID

Ok, so I soaked it in bleach & rinsed it. Then I re-dyed it with a mixture of orange, cherry, & black cherry Kool-aid. I can use it, only a few muted purple spots remain.

I tried to dye a skein of Cobasi yarn with KOOL-AID and it went all wrong!
It's a poor choice/placement of the colors. In my frustration, I doused the whole skein with purple! This muddied the colors. I should have used a less expensive yarn to experiment on. Oh well, I'm bleaching these colors out & then I'll overdye it.  Stay tuned :)

The Cricut Cake Machine Can Cut Paper!

Here are pics of my new
 Cricut Cake
machine
and the cuts it made on paper.
I'm very happy with the results. I didn't see examples on the internet that showed detailed cuts from the Cricut Cake. I hope this will be helpful to other folks who are interested in getting this machine.
There are some comparison cuts to show you how it stacked up to the Cricut Expression (same mat and blade were used in both machines).

I used:
*Purple Bazzil cardstock
*White cardstock is Georgia Pacific 110lb. from Walmart
*Pressure-6
*Speed-2
*Blade Depth-6
*The green plastic blade housing that came with my Cricut Expression.
*Gypsy

Damask Decor tags cut at 5'' and a Snowflake cut at 7".

The smallest cut is Let it snow was set at 2".

LADYBUG MINI ALBUM

This is a LADYBUG MINI ALBUM I made for a friend's granddaughters.
I based it on 3 mini albums I found on youtube.com
harrisjcarolyn made the most adorable mini, and it really inspired me to from start to finish.
pinkaboo6691 and aqtnsd, also made mini albums and offered great tips.
I was suprised that there weren't more in this theme.
My Version:
-The face w/ the eyes is actually a movable page . I had to separate it from the body on the back of the mini, because it was easier to bind it this way.
-The purses are my fav, they even have hanging charms.
-The jar was fun to make with acetate. Of course, it flaps open for picture placement, as do all  of the cutouts.
-On the backside, there's a pouch that's hand sewn. It holds a music button inside of the red ladybug & it plays "Jesus Loves Me".
